Roasting is the process of cooking Food over a Campfire. You may also use a Lantern, Spotlight, or one of the forging torches at the Blacksmith to roast food.

Once you have these items, you're good to go!
Simply place the dried grass on the ground by holding it close to the ground until green circles appear below it, then release your grip to place it. Place wood around the grass, and then use your fire starter of choice to light the dried grass.
Then, all you have to do is place the uncooked item near the fire and watch it. Whole or sliced pieces of food can be roasted. While it is cooking, it will have white smoke coming off of it. When it is done, it will have black smoke coming off (and this means its burning!). After it is done cooking, just put it in your inventory and you're done! Be sure to clean up your campfire, as ash piles and burnt logs lying around can cause server lag.

You will need:
- 1 Ball of Dead Grass
- 3 to 4 Logs or coal
- Water-filled Cauldron
- Something to light the fire
- Something to hold the soup in
To fill a cauldron with water, you can either take it to the Well at the Ponds, to the right of Town Hall, or use the boxes of water right outside the door to the Smithy. Then, you need to take the cauldron (being careful not to spill the water) to wherever you want to cook.
When you are at the place you have decided to cook, you will need to start the fire you will be using for your cooking. This can be done by holding dead grass near the floor until you see circles below it, then releasing. Then, put log wedges near it and light it. In terms of positioning the cauldron, you can either use the hooks at the Tavern, with the fire below it, or simply put the cauldron near the fire. you can also use a lantern to heat up the water in the pot this can be useful if you don't have the resources necessary to heat up the water.
Making The Food
Inside the tavern, next to the large keg, is a book that has stewing recipes inside of it. Simply flip through the book and find one you like. To the left of each page are the ingredients required to make the stew, and the benefits of the stew are shown to the right of the page. For ingredients, it has been confirmed by Bossun that cooked ingredients provide a better buff than uncooked ingredients, and the same goes for using full ingredients instead of chopped ones. It is recommended then that you roast your ingredients before stewing them.
Extra ingredients, such as salt and garlic, can enhance stews to give better effects. Salt can either increase the potency or duration of the effects of food, while Garlic can increase the nutrition of your food.
Once you confirm that the left side of the pages ingredients are at your disposal light the fire under the cauldron. Make sure to put in the ingredients in order or you could risk making different food.
Put the ingredients in the cauldron in order, from top to bottom on the recipe page. Put them in one by one but slowly, 10 to 15 seconds apart from each other, and watch how it cooks.
A large white flash in the cauldron will let you know that your stew is complete, and you then need to take the cauldron off the fire to ensure that it doesn't burn.
Dip your bowl or flask in the stew and take it out once it is filled. Gourds hold 2 charges, flasks hold 1, and the cauldron itself holds 3 (as long as it was completely filled with water).
Flasks and gourds are sealed, and thus can take soup on the go, but bowls or ladles are more limited in transportation, as you must hold them and keep them from spilling.
Be sure to clean up your cooking area, as ash piles and burned logs can cause server lag.
